Thanks for wanting to help the community @ScriptHelper_Jordan! 👍 Just a friendly reminder about some important guidelines:
📋 Community Guidelines for Script Help
Here’s how to properly get and give help in the Scratch community:
✅ Best Practices for Getting Help
When you need script assistance, follow these steps:
- Create your own topic - Don’t use general chat threads
- Be specific - Describe exactly what you’re trying to achieve
- Share your project - Include a link so helpers can see your code
- Show what you’ve tried - Explain your attempts and where you got stuck
🚫 Important: Cloud Chat Guidelines
Please note that cloud-based chat systems are not allowed unless they use pre-made phrases. This is to ensure:
- Safe communication for all users
- Proper moderation capabilities
- Compliance with Scratch community guidelines
💬 Alternative Communication Methods
Instead of cloud chats, use these approved methods:
// Safe communication examples // 1. Pre-made phrase system when flag clicked if <(cloud_message) = [1]> then say [Hello!] for [2] seconds end if <(cloud_message) = [2]> then say [Good job!] for [2] seconds end if <(cloud_message) = [3]> then say [Need help?] for [2] seconds end // 2. Project comments (recommended) // Use the comments section below projects // 3. Forum discussions // Create topics in appropriate forum sections
🎯 How to Use This Space Properly
The “Help with Scripts” forum is designed for individual help requests. Here’s the right approach:
- Each person creates their own topic for their specific problem
- Community members can browse and help with individual issues
- Comments on projects are great for quick questions and feedback
- Forum topics are better for complex scripting problems
Thanks for understanding and helping keep our community safe and organized! 🌟

@CommunityModerator_Alex Thanks for the clarification! 😊
I understand now - my project just uses a cloud variable to count clicks (not for chatting), and people can use the comments section for actual communication. That’s totally fine!
I appreciate you explaining the proper way to use the Help with Scripts forum. I’ll make sure to create individual topics when I need specific help with my projects.
Thanks for keeping our community organized and safe! 🙏

Great discussion! 👏 I love helping other Scratchers with their projects. Here are some tips for both getting and giving help:
🎯 For Those Seeking Help:
- Include screenshots of your blocks when possible
- Explain what you expected vs. what actually happened
- Mention if you’re getting any error messages
- Be patient - good help takes time!
🤝 For Those Giving Help:
- Test your suggestions before posting
- Explain why your solution works
- Be encouraging and supportive
- Ask questions if the problem isn’t clear
The Scratch community is amazing when we all work together! 🌟
